Assignment 3 | Finishing?

In class, we all played each other's games. Very Fun🤩 I had a very similar set of feedback from peers:

• Change not clear!!
• Game not running well
• The lighthouse wall is confusing

And while the feedback seems pretty minor my solution and plan for the game will entail a lot more work😵 Currently, as I see it, I need to solve three components

• Waves

  • The player and the buoys need to float on the water
    • The player needs to still be controllable
  • The water needs to increase in height and fluctuation the further the player is from the start.

• Visuals

  • There needs to be some kind of fog or lightning that darkens the scene as the player enters the middle part and thins out towards the end
    • There needs to be sound in this part.

• Playability

  • Maybe lower some of the rendering settings
    • Maybe not infinite
  • The Lighthouse should move away from you
    • If this is not possible, I was also thinking about separating the lighthouse onto a different water island that becomes bridged once the buoys are activated

• I will also make the lighthouse a convex mesh so the player can walk up the stairs. As mentioned before I don't want the player to be able to go inside the lighthouse, as this is a symbol of the future.

• Maybe also add a light to the lighthouse

  • This could be a spotlight that highlights buoys that aren't lit, thus showing the player where to go to progress

• Extra stuff😵‍💫

  • Birds?
    • Flying in a pattern above
  • Clouds?
    • weather patterns
  • Underwater
    • Surface or animals?
  • End-of-game achivment
    • I can't use text so maybe a confetti bomb?
  • Character switch
    • It won't make sense if the boat is on land. I might have to switch to a player model
  • Fog lifting a little after each buoy is unlocked?

I wasn't sure that I could get these tasks done in the next two days, especially because I had personal commitments so I asked for an extension. So now the assignment is due next week🙏
