Important place post

For this homework task, I took a video of the Sun Theatre in Yarraville. This is a place I often go either to check out new movies or to catch up with friends. 🎥🌞🎭

Then I traded videos with Henry and Milo to practice my editing skills in Adobe Premier Pro 💪

Final cut:

Description: The task required considering juxtaposition, pacing, and rhythm. I attempted to create some contrast by abruptly cutting between clips highlighting the difference in audio and visual space.

I tried to place my clips on similar lines, like a match cut, to maintain the viewer's centre of focus.

Example 1: Opacity lowered and lines drawn for emphasis Example 1: Opacity lowered and lines drawn for emphasis

Example 2: Example 2:

I considered the energy and direction of viewers' eyes when editing the clips. I tried to imitate the pan of the first clip with the movement in the second (the sun sign moves in the same direction as the pans).

To maintain the elements of rhythm/pacing I made the lengths of the clips mirror each other.

The top clips are sun: Long Long, Short Short, Long Long Top clips are sun: Long Long, Short Short, Long Long

I've used Premiere Pro in the past but only on a basic level. It was great to relearn some of the core skills e.g. Using V, C, ⌄ and ^ shortcuts 🤓
